Land Acknowledgement for Our Office in Toronto
We acknowledge that our office is situated on the traditional territory of many Indigenous nations. Toronto is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This land is part of the Dish With One Spoon Treaty, an agreement between Indigenous nations to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.
We also recognize that Toronto is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples from across Turtle Island. We honour this land’s centuries of Indigenous stewardship and the rich cultural heritage that continues to thrive here.
As we acknowledge the past and present of Indigenous peoples in this region, we commit to fostering respect, understanding, and reconciliation within our office and community. We recognize the ongoing struggles for justice, self-determination, and the preservation of Indigenous languages, cultures, and traditions. We are grateful for the opportunity to work on this land and commit to being good stewards of it for future generations.
Our office values diversity, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging for all who enter our doors. We encourage everyone to learn about and respect the history and contributions of Indigenous peoples in our community.
Let us take this moment to express our gratitude and show our respect for the land and all of its inhabitants.
