The Challenge
Hudson’s Bay was in search of a solution that allowed customers to efficiently access and manage their gift registries online. Customers were missing opportunities to obtain exclusive offers, event information, and the ability to create and manage their gift registries on the go. With hundreds of stores across North America and over thousands of items in stock, they needed another user-friendly platform for customers to be able to easily navigate through their favourite items. The best way to do this is by what we call “appifying” your business. This means converting Hudson’s Bay already amazing gift registry into an app platform that caters to their customers immediate needs and preferences.
The Solution
The Hudson Bay gift registry is now a mobile platform developed by TheAppLabb which allows Hudson Bay customers to create, manage, and find registries on their iOS mobile device. Our solution included using our retail app platform designed specifically for retail companies which includes the same features as the web platform but with mobile functionality. This gives their customers not only the ability to manage their gift registry but to locate stores and perform other relevant tasks related to the gift registry.
The features include rewards where customers can earn points through Hudson’s Bay’s rewards program by using their Hudson’s Bay Mastercard or credit card with every purchase. There is a store locator for quick and easy way to locate their preferred store and customers can easily setup an account for easy management.
The Impact We Made
The Hudson’s Bay gift registry app has improved user experience and overall customer satisfaction, leading to increased sales performance. With the integration of Apple’s iBeacon platform and Bluetooth technology, they are able to detect and interact with shoppers who have downloaded the gift registry app, allowing them to track the location patterns of participating users. This has opened the door to many opportunities in retail marketing for Hudson’s Bay.
